![]() However, for some reason it was always hard to find locally and I was thinking of changing anyway. The Srixon AD 333 seems to get decent write ups and can be available at a discount - any thoughts any one? |

| Re: Ball choice for 3 skills played another 9 holes today , used the noodle again and was pleased with the results. i think from the initial question , you are better off playing with a mid price ball , thats giving spin and stopping ability on the greens.and when you've found the right ball , praying it's not discontinued next month! |

I'm using the AD333 at the moment and liking the results I'm getting. They don't get too cut up through one round and they stop on our greens nicely enough for me. The ball was recomended to me by a guy at my local House of Golf store, who also sponsor our club, as a suitable replacement for the MaxFli Revolution (also being phased out) that I used to use. | Re: Ball choice for 3 skills At one point we only had Revo's. They were a balata ball. Then "they" changed, and we had both Tour Distance and Tour Spin. I don't think either were balata covered balls. Was using the Tour Spin ball. Probably could still find them here, if I went searching, but, I'm happy to support our retail sponsor's outlet. They look after our club members and as I said, I'm getting good results with the AD333. Cheers ![]() |

| Re: Ball choice for 3 skills temperature Does temperature alter how much you can spin the ball? I have been drawing the ball a bit since using 3sk. Today, it was blinking freezing on the course. I never managed to draw one ball! I tried the 2 different balls that I normally can draw, but nothing. Could it be temperature or did I have a poor day do you think? | Re: Ball choice for 3 skills temperature The compression of the ball and possibly the hardness of the cover is influenced by the temperature. One trick is to use two balls (exchanging them only on the tee of course) and keeping the ball that isn't in use, in your trouserpocket. That should keep it at a decent temperature, at least for the tee-shot. |

| Re: Ball choice for 3 skills Golf balls absorb heat slowly and lose it slowly so I think keeping a ball in your pocket does not do much. It is better to keep the balls in a boiler room or airing cupboard over night then keep them in your pocket while playing, they will loose heat gradually. |

| Re: Ball choice for 3 skills No, it's not. You can change your ball between holes as often as you wish. Now - you can't artificially heat the ball up. As mentioned by Brian, balls don't heat up very quickly, so it's no use if they have been sitting in the boot of your car for a few days in sub-zero temperatures. Balls kept at normal indoor temperatures, and then kept from cooling down too much during play, will do a lot better than a frozen brick that has been living in a pocket in your golf bag for months. |
