Hi Miffin,

Cold balls definately affect the distance we hit in winter............lol

It costs anything upto about 30 yds loss in distance and as you say not as much spin, what I do is buy Pearl Grade PROV1s off ebay, about 80p per ball and use them over winter, they are still very soft and good for chipping, putting etc
I have found that they are also good for Liam in summer, he plays a good ball and not to much expense for me although he doesn't loose many now so I get him a dozen new ones for comps.

Not a bad idea for all of us.
