Slats! What out for the shanker to your left! 10 seconds in and I thought you were the target

As for the swing - is this the 3skills applied? Impact looks very nice, would love to see from face on view and away from the mats - although most likely unable to due to weather, yeah?

Whats the ball flight, right to left? (It better be...)

Re: swing video at last

Everything looks good at a glance. Contact sounds good, whoosh sounds good too. Your stance is solid and you appear in balance throughout. Even if you lift the left foot then bring it back down. You look in control of the club and the ball flight seems to show that as well.

It looks like you try to avoid striking the ground. I can understand this since you're on a hard synthetic mat but when you're on grass it's best to strike downward on the ball. I used to avoid striking the mat but then I figured it served me no good when I play on grass so I started striking downward on the ball even on a hard practice mat. The feedback hurts a bit more than grass but it pays off in the result I get when I play on grass. It takes a conscious effort to strike downward on the ball when on a hard mat but keep at it for it will help you when you finally play on grass.

Lifting the left foot on the backswing and then bringing it back down on the downswing is not much of a problem with sufficient practice but then it makes for one more thing to control and the swing is already difficult as it is. It's advised to lift the left foot when you can't turn so much to allow a greater turn but you look like you don't turn that much to need that move in the first place. If you can keep that foot planted firmly on the ground it will be one less thing to control and your control and accuracy will be that much enhanced by it.

You wear non cleated shoes in the video. Do you play with them as well? If you play with cleated shoes, you'll have to adjust your technique to take into account the difference in traction the cleated shoes give you. It's best to practice with the equipment you play with. Same goes for a glove or a hat or any other apparel you wear when you play.

Keep it up.

thanks for the pointers martin.
i hadnt noticed the left foot lifting so i will keep an eye out for that, i dont hit off the mat the same way as i hit off grass but the weather being so wet here the grass range is shut.
i normally wear my golf shoes at the range as they give you a lot more traction.

Re: swing video at last

Not seeing your right hand at the top makes a hard evaluation, but it does appear you are striking the ball with more arm movement then wrist uncocking. Like I said it is had to see if you full cock your wrist at the top. I will study more and see different, it would mean you are losing height and distance.

Hi Slats,

Nice balanced address position.
very good spine angle retention.
Good ball contact.

A bit of an unbalanced follow-through.
And, Smile please!

Re: swing video at last

At full speed it looks very controlled. I like the short backswing and follow through. Looks set for accuracy.

Well done!

To my uneducated eye the swing seems fine - as current scores reflect - but Brian's right you look a refugee from the Strangeways Golf Society

Re: swing video at last

does your range have any of those automatic tees for woods?
the matting is a lot lusher and you can hit bown on the ball without hurting yourself.
nice looking swing , all 3 the same ball flight.
