My guess is that in Swing for Life (which doesn't have advanced sections), and the article you linked to he is writing to readers he considers in the average or beginning stages. Either that or he forgot about his wrist hinge thought(s) (he still has the wrist hinge in video and pictures).
maybe the Faldo hinge is the secret then?

In both books though Faldo explains and demonstrates the pre set drill, and I feel this can develop the cocking motion he describes. Here's a link to a demonstration of the pre set drill. Although the instructor emphasises the core of the body controlling the swing, I feel it also gives a great lesson in setting the wrists correctly in the way Faldo describes in his book.

Re: Wrist Cock...Again.....Sorry....

Just come back from a quick 14 holes. Worked with the Faldo wrist set, and have to say it worked reasonably well. More power to my shots, better flight.

For those wanting to feel this wrist action, Nick compares it to a tennis shot or throwing a ball. Try this yourself, imagine you are hitting a tennis forearm shot, fee how your wrist works back on itself towards your right forearm. This is the feeling Nick advocates in the golf swing. Your body rotation and swing path if correct should take care of the club face. Try this with a golf club ding baseball swings as well to get an idea of path, rotation and plane.
