Driver leaking to the left...unusual suspect!

I am a lefty and my drives since last summer have been leaking to the left. I have taken expensive private lessons, bought more magazines, books, and dvds and the problem persists. I have had some miserable golf rounds owing to this. Sometimes I can feel the club shift in my hand, and I thought it was my wrists buckling and that my grip was too light.

Yesterday at the range –without thinking –intuitively - I turned the club upside down and twisted the club head. It is loose! And that is the “shifting” that I had been feeling, which I am sure has gotten progressively worse. We are always told not to blame our equipment, but I really should of checked the driver head myself way earlier.

The store where I bought it said I could return the club and they would fix it for about $7.00, or they could return it to the manufacturer. The club is a year old. What is the likely outcome in this situation…you hear about manufactures like Ping and Callaway who have outstanding reputations standing buy their equipment. I suppose this could have happened with any manufacturer – but it didn’t – my Callaway irons are nine years old –I hit them relentlessly without a second thought. In this case the manufacturer Cobra, what should I do?

Acushnet (Titleist and Cobra) has had poor quality control for a very long time. Beside loose heads they also commonly ship out clubs with loose grips and incorrect lie angles on clubs.

Regardless you need to have the head re-glued if you plan to use the driver again. The store will do it for you quicker, but the quality of repair may not be as profecient. $7.00 seems pretty expensive for a simple re-glue job. If you have other golf stores in your area you may want to call them and get quotes too.
