hooking with hybrids

i have run into problems with my hybrids!
i play cobra 3R and 5R bafflers and i am losing confidence with them to the point that i should remove them from the bag.
no matter what i do i hook the living daylights out of them, i dont hook with any other clubs in my set up.
ive tinkered with grip, stance, ball position all to no avail
any ideas?

Re: hooking with hybrids

Slats,

With ball position I find that hybrids need a position of their own, it's between a mid and long iron. Try placing it around two ball widths ahead of centre, if you place it like a 3/5 wood then it will be too far forward and will encourage a hook.

Three ideas Slats.

1) Stop tinkering. Go to your pro and get it sorted - tell him that if he tries to change your entire game he won't get paid, you just want an expert eye on this problem.

2) Unlikely seeing the rest of your game is OK but worth considering as a 3 Skiller. Played today and was pulling everything - worked out I was coming back too much inside. Maybe you are and the open to close move is giving you a hook?

3) If you can't solve it before your singles match leave them in the boot.

thanks robin
did a bit more 'tinkering' and solved the problem
moved the ball back in my stance but widen my stance as well!
hit each hybrid half a dozen times in my round last night and the results were high soft draws
