| Re: Blocking and Pushing Check alignment first. Then check your spine angle into impact. You might be standing up a touch. |

| Re: Blocking and Pushing Sure...if you are too upright at setup there is nowhere for the hands to go into impact but out-to-in, rather then in-to-out. |

| Re: Blocking and Pushing My bad shot is always a push and when it happens it is caused by my right hip pulling round too early in the downswing and blocking my right arm. I think the problem is associated with incorrect understanding in the past that the downswing needed to start with an aggressive rotation of the hips, this can pull the left hip behind and the right out in front too early creating spin out and blocking. I think many of us get the wrong idea of "Clearing the hips" or why we should do it. The hips will naturally turn in the backswing and as the downswing starts the right buttock needs to stay back so that the right arm and elbow has space to swing through, as we come into impact the right buttock should stay back and the left one should wind back so that it is in line with the left. through impact into the release the left should stay back and the right should pull out. If that's difficult to follow this video explains it nicely:
