right shoulder set up

should the right shoulder be lowered by the same amount when setting up or should it get lower when using longer clubs?

Re: right shoulder set up

Hello big fella,

With the spine tilt, the right shoulder should be slightly lower than the left (for the right hander).

Re: right shoulder set up

Hi Slats,

There are two considerations here:

The fact that the right hand is placed lower on the club than the left will make the right shoulder drop lower than the left.

When you are setup at address you need to have the ball somewhere near your left ear and maintain it around this position up to and just past impact. To achieve this you need to tilt your spine to the right and pivot around this tilt. The tilt will also lower the right shoulder.

So! to answer your question the amount of tilt will be constant with the right hand being lower and will relate to the ball position as to how much you tilt your spine.
