Re: Where Has Go Low Gone?

I agree Robin, there are some cultural barriers....I don't think some understand/comprehend European humour.

I suppose its like buying the rights to great shows like Ab Fab, Men Behaving Badly, changing and f...king them over and over .

Like my little tongue in cheek comment about wearing a pillow case, carrying a piece of wood.....

LOL, I must have missed that comment Champ , but what a disturbing image that is, especially when my mental picture is something closer to Anna Rawson

This is kind of amusing. Like "Nobody asked him to go, we just invited him to go".

You are wrong here Jamb. There were a few comments when he suggested one member's game must be pathetic, that's all! It was suggested by a few of us here (me included) that this was rude, he had also dismissed others thoughts on the swing out of hand implying that only his method had any merit.

NO ONE invited, suggested, implied or insisted he should leave or remove his posts, we had all stated that he was a valuable member and that he added much to the site.

Please get the the facts right, I am a little sick and tired of these implicit statements that he was driven away. And that applies to the CMAYS fiasco as well.

Based on my experience in both learning and in teaching the golf swing, and in trying to be proactive, and in the spirit of helping others on this forum, the best piece of golf instruction related advice I can give is to listen to people who know what they are talking about and don't chase them away. Any other advice I could give this forum would not be worth a fraction of what someone like Go Low or Cmays (or several others who are still here) could provide.

As to whether they were run off or not, IMO, the results speak for themselves. They are no longer here.

This thread has just about run it's course. If there's nothing useful left to say, let it go.

That sounds a bit of a cop out to me. If you can teach the golf swing then you can help others, please don't play mind games. If you wish to assist the community do it, otherwise please go and sit on another fence.

As to your final paragraph, it's intentionally provocative and not worthy of a thinking person. Please make your intentions transparent regarding this site? You are either a lurker whereby we can accept that you have little to offer, or, you genuinely wish to contribute, in which case 'Welcome' and please stop using these vitriotic terms. OK, you don't like me but start pis*ing or get of the pot.

Re: Where Has Go Low Gone?

okay guys enough

go low went of his own accord! finito!

lets get one thing straight if haney, harmon and leadbetter were forum members the minute they start decrying other members or being abusive they would be told exactly the same thing

this forum does not tolerate that sort of behaviour however good the instruction

any more and the thread gets locked!

Re: Where Has Go Low Gone?

I'd like to say I am not comparing cmays situation with Go Low's. cmays was a whole other kettle of fish. I got on cmays case a few times myself. His advice was often cryptic and unclear but eventually I just took the good with the bad. Go Low however was very precise and open in his advice. I think people went way overboard in the incident when they got on to him about a particular thing he said because in context it was no big deal. One person got on to him and others jumped in to back him up. This has happened to more than just cmays and Go Low where it seems people just have it out for somebody and things are made unpleasant enough for them that they leave.

I agree with you Brian. As you know I tried debating with him a few times and he was quite opioinated which is fine if you are prepared to accept there are other ways to get things done. I also always thought he was 2 posts away from selling something as well .

People are here to learn and debate and have a little fun as well. Getting upset about comments on an internet forum by someone youve never met.. well if i ever get there you all have permission to shoot me

That "Swing Right" thread was close on 100 posts most of which - despite being slapped down for being "wrong" i.e. not in accordance with GoLow's views - were contributing to an informative debate.

Eighty comments in, about 4 posts suggested that GoLow had been discourteous in telling Bill that his game was "pathetic" and each of those took pains to stress that they thought his input was useful but that perhaps he'd consider moderating his tone.

If you think that those four posts were going overboard and constituted ganging up, bullying, threatening, running off the site then you've been brought up in rather more genteel playground than the rest of us; if you can't understand why GoLow was being discourteous or why a more polite style would be appreciated then perhaps the two of you should attend a course at Miss Manner's School of Charm and Etiquette together.
