| Dear Pro Handicap 15. Have tried everything to control over the top tendencies and now confused with all the options! These thoughts seem to help: Stay centred on backswing, hands high, then avoid forcing arms down, simply swap left shoulder for right (as perceived). Hips seem to transfer without thought, whereas when I try to turn hips first, I start to lose control and turn out of shot. Is this shoulder swap feeling a good one? Or pulling arms down while back to target also helps, but tend to hit fat. Any thoughts.? Any Hope? Martin |

| Hi Martin, Swing thoughts are exactly that, they are thoughts. Many different thoughts can produce the same result, but many may not. Let me try and explain. You are focusing on the downswing, now your thought about swapping shoulders seems to be helping you and as long as it is producing the right movements for the downswing then you should use this thought. It may be that next week/month for whatever reason this thought may not produce the correct movement, and this is when we need to find a different thought to produce that same movement. Exchanging thoughts is fine as long as the movement produced is good. TIP: Keep a journal of your swing thoughts, they come in handy in the future. Let me know how you get on.
