Talking hitting iron's straight at last

Just back from the practice ground at my club and i can now send nearly all my iron shots where i aim and leave a perfect divot straight on line with the target . Never before have i managed this in my four years of trying and it is all down to a minor change at setup. The change being when addressing the ball i have always made a point of resting the sole of the club on the ground, and after swinging, this would usually result in a shot which usually went to the right and a divot that was arrow shaped that went to the left. Not anymore, what i do now as i address the ball is bend a little more and lower my hands just enough to lift the toe of the ground and swing my normal swing and watch that ball sail down the fairway STRAIGHT.
I dont know if what i am doing is correct but it makes a hell of a differance to my shots and my confidence.

John.

Re: hitting iron's straight at last

Hi John,

well done on your efforts all you need to do now is work on a good pre-shot routine that will help you remember these pointers that lead to good shot...........because if you don't know now, you soon will do, golf is about remembering things that you have already learned once.

Good luck.

When you play well you think it will never end

When you play **** it's just the same.
