Help with clubface being shut

Hi,
This is my first post on this website. I have been video taping my swing a lot lately and have noticed that my clubface stays shut through the entire backswing. This leads to my right elbow being way to far behind me at the top and an outside-in swing. My question is if I get in the right takeaway position, when the club is paralell to the ground and the toe is pointed up, will this help stop the right elbow from being too far back? Thanks in advance.

Re: Help with clubface being shut

My bet is that it is your setup. You are probably starting out too right arm dominate. If you get the right arm/elbow to stay relaxed and flexed so that the rear view sees the left arm above the right, and let the shaft and left arm show as 1 line from the face to the left shoulder (from the face on view) these 2 things will allow the right to fold properly.

If you are manipulating the arms during the takaway at all and not allowing the shoulder turn to start the swing back only, this will also cause the right arm to get too far outside the path.
