Hitting the ground

After 2 weeks of bad weather i finally got out to the course. All was ok except on 7 or 8 drives i kept hitting the mat as i was striking the ball. It took about 15 to 20 yards off my drive but didnt affect the flight. Didnt do it on any other clubs, any ideas what was causing it? On two occasions the mat was slightly higher at my stance than were I teed up (bout 1 inch). My drive was as sweet as a nut. So unless i put 2 inch spikes in my shoes I need a fix
Thanks

Re: Hitting the ground

This is common hitting off mats. Can you sdjust the tee height? If so, raise the tee up a bit higher and swing with a bit fltter plane. Be forewarned, this will cause a bit of a draw (if you normally hit straight) similar to hitting off a sidehill where the ball is above your feet.

Yes that is very common, when i first got onto mats it was terrible, but now it fine, but still just want to get on the gras, you could just try teein up high or not grounding your club.
