Over The Top And Off The Heel

IVE DEVELOPED AN OVER THE TOP SWING PLANE RECENTLY AND HIT THE BALL ON THE HEEL OF ALL CLUBS THIS STARTED WHEN I CHANGED MY BACKSWING I STARTED TRYING TO EXTEND THE CLUB FURTHER STRAIGHT BACK
THIS MADE MY SWING OVER THE PLANE AND COME BACK INSIDE AND HIT THE BALL OFF THE HEEL IVE STARTED TRYING TO KEEP MY RIGHT ELBOW CLOSER TO MY BODY AND WORK ON COMING DOWN MORE ON A INSIDE PATH
IS THIS RIGHT

Re: Over The Top And Off The Heel

Sounds like you might be too close to the ball at set up. Make sure your arms hang loosely from your shoulders at setup.

For the proper takeaway, try this drill:

From there, start your downswing: http://members.shaw.ca/gord962/drills/downswing.htm

Let me know if these helped!

Re: Over The Top And Off The Heel

Oh Boy, it sounds like you're in serious trouble with this one. The OTT swing could be cuased by a number of things from in correct arm fold to poor weight transfer to moving your left out the way too quickly ...

Can you post or e-mail a swing video so we can see where the cause is?
