| Crazy setup change - fantastic results I've always struggled with a push shot. I've worked forever trying to understand why. I concluded it was because I was hitting the ball with an open clubface but whatever I did, I couldn't correct it. It was all very frustrating. As an experiment I tried moving my hands back about 6 inches at setup. It looks crazy and a few people are saying stuff like - "I don't know how you can hit the ball ?" - It's like an opposite to a forward press. The results have been amazing ! My whole swing feels 100% better ! I'm in the correct position at the top, the club isn't open anymore. I feel more balanced and my shots are powerfull and straight. I've started hitting a controlled fade, a shot I could never do. I've hit 37 fairways on the trot over the last few rounds and a gross 72 on Sunday in the Medal. My Dad who is an expert on my swing says my new setup looks strange but I don't "twist my hands" like I used to. I hope it lasts ! |

| Re: Crazy setup change - fantastic results As I say in my downswing drill, start the downswing with the lower body. The lower body will turn the upper body, which will set the arms in motion. Hold the arms at the top as long as you can, drop your right elbow to your right hip and accelerate through the ball. |
