changing the club face angle

I have gone from a Titleist 983K 8.5 to the same driver with a 10.5 degree face. For some reason my driving skills have gone to the toilet with the 10.5. I have found I can absolutely nut a ball (with the 10.5 ) by bringing the clubface to an open posistion at the balls address and contact. I get even more loft than I do with the club at its normal posistion. Am I crazy or am I just countering a bad swing flaw with a rigged fix. Personally, I would think this would cause a weak grip and a slice but is has not...

Close your eyes, have a friend hand one to you and swing it...try this a bunch of times mixing it up.

Re: changing the club face angle

there was no need for me to go with a 10.5 . i hit the 8.5 well. I am a 15 handicap and wanted to change it up a little. I have only had a few lessons. I tend to live or die on the range. I just dint know if i was over-compentasting for maybe coming over the top. They have different grips so that ruins that. I will say this. I am playing the new bridgestone tour ball and it is nice.
Prior to that I was playing the u-tri tour, the maxfli rev-tour and the pro-v1x.

for the money the rev tour is a nice ball (19.99 a dozen for the $$$ concious)....however, the first time i hit the maxfli black max i did nut it 358.
I almost had to do a self induced drug test after that drive.
