Turning Wrists

Hi Guys

First of all, GREAT GREAT WEBSITE, very informative and helpful.
One of the reasons I am staying in the game.

Just wanted your thoughts.

An instructor once told me to turn my wrists over at impact of the ball with my driver. Basically I should concentrate coming from the inside and turning my wrists over at impact which will generate power.

My concern is hooking the ball or hitting too far to the right (I am a lefty). Should I leave the club head alittle open to compensate for this?
Also does this apply to all the clubs or just the longer clubs 2 to 7?

What are your two cents?

Thanks

Re: Turning Wrists

At impact, yfor a leftie, your right wrist should be flat, your left wrist should be cupped. Not until after impact should you roll your left wrist over your right wrist. See GregJWillis' right hand drill to get a sense of what needs to be done:

Re: Turning Wrists

Thanks for the clarification. Something seemed strange with my instructor's advice or it could be that I misunderstood.

Thanks for the lesson, very informative
It makes alot of sense.
Should make a different with my accuracy and distance. Problem with living in Canada is a shortened season so you tend to forget things.

And good luck to Greg on his audition. Hit em long and straight.
