| Re: What Iron or Wood to use should just be a matter of distance vs. controlling the ball. If its a long par4 or par5 you should always be hitting a wood. however if the fairway is skinny and hard to hit you may want to hit a long iron off the tee, as irons are usually always easier to control. the more you play the more you will be able to estimate how far you can hit a given club and how far you away you are from the pin or your spot on the fairway you pick out. |

| Re: What Iron or Wood to use Hi Roy, If you are a begginer then you should use the same club for a while "maybe a 3/5 wood" this should get you some distance on par 4/5 and hopefully not land you in to much trouble. For you second shots don't worry to much about trying to hit every green play your shorter clubs 6-9 and keep it in the middle of the fairway, play bogey golf (1 shot over on every hole). Until you build a consistant swing you will not be sure how far you hit each club, however once you improve there should be around 10 yds in between each club, this will help more with your second shots. Good Luck and the Pinseekers will be fine. Ian.
