New Driver

I have a new driver on the way, and I haven't been playing with one for a while. What should I do to "learn" the club? Are there any gradual drills I should do to retrain myself? I typically went straight with occasional fade/slice.

Re: New Driver

NOTHING. It is hard enough to learn one swing, you don't need to learn two. Be sure that your fundamentals are correct. If they are you will see desirable results. Be sure that the ball is placed off of your left armpit. Have a stable base, your feet should be a little wider than shoulder width apart. Be sure to tilt your spine to the right stightly this will plce more weight on your right side encouraging a shallow angle of attack. We want a shallow AOA because we are seeking a boring trajectory for long distances. Is your grip correct, be sure that the V'S formed by your index finger and your thumb point between your right shoulder and the right side of your chin. Align parallel left of the target. DO NOT overlook alignment this is the most misunderstood fundamental that golfers perform. The club should be aimed at the target and your body parallel left of the target. Concerning posture, first stand erect now bend forward from the waist. You will feel weight go tawrds your toes now flex your knees and the weight will settle more on the balls of your feet.

Re: New Driver

just make sure you have a sound swing and don't expect immediate results, just be pacient and if you are, your investment will payoff
