swing difference

HI peeps i was wondering what other peoples swings feels like using a driver and say a 7 iron, for me it is the same, with my 7 iron and driver i always feel like im coming down on the ball, this works for me very well, what is your swing pattern?

Re: swing difference

Some info on me; I'm 6'3", 175lbs, right handed and have the flexability of Adam Scott, wish I had his build. I don't think there is supposed to be a difference but there is for me.

When I swing my 7i I;
-feel like I pull the club back on line
-my hands feel like they actually cock the club to parrellel
-on the downswing, I feel like the club just falls into the slot and squares the club

When I swing my driver I;
-feel like I have to pull(while rotating my shoulders) the club to the inside so I can avoid an out to in swing
-to get the driver to parrellel I have to get my left shoulder under my chin and have my hands stop at what feels like 3/4 but is acutally parrellel
-at the top of my swing it feels like my driver is sitting 7-9 inches directly above my right shoulder
-I also feel like the club just drops on the downswing in the slot but I fell like I have to really extend to the outside for an in to out path but it is actually square
-I also try to feel like my right heel has remain in contact or very close to the ground until the moment of impact

When I swing my 3 wood I;
-almost everything the same as a 7i but I feel like I have to stop at 3/4 for the club to actually be parrellel
-don't have to force the club on and inside to out path

On bad days I have a tendency to come over the top and not let the club just drop in the slot. Other days I have problems with my hands when they collapse close to my side and my hands end up way in front of the club face and ball resulting in a wicked out to in swing and a nasty 40 yard slice.

Re: swing difference

Hi Whippet,

This may sound like bad advice but take it or leave it.......

"Don't think about it" the length of the club will take care of the swing plane naturally.

Ian.
