Wrist Action Hey guys. New to golf. New here. I have a basic question...in applying the "pronate/supinate" wrist approach. Please stop me if I'm mistaken. As I understand it. On the downswing, your right wrist stays pronated (palm up) and then supinates (palm down) through impact? WHEN does this change happen? -Just after impact? -Just before impact? I'm confused. Its too hard to see this in observance of the pros, as it happens too fast. Thanks for any help.

Re: Wrist Action My best advice is to not think about it. Do you think about how your hands work when you swing a bat? No. Do you think about what your fingers are doing when you throw a frisbee? No. Do you think about what your ankle is doing when you kick a ball? No. If you stop trying to manipulate the club, you'll like your swing more - trust me.

Re: Wrist Action That's good advice. However, I did play baseball most of my life and I did need to know how to use the bat to control the hitting before it was natural. (Career .283 hitter in minor league ball). I just want to know the idea of the wrist action to implement it into the swing as I learn to find my own. Then I'll forget it and relax into the game. **I did check out AJ Golf which I thought was helpful. He promotes this swing theory, but did I miss the part where he actually explains WHEN to use this wrist pronate/supinate within the swing? He shows you need to do it, but not specifically when as it relates to contact!! Thanks.

| Re: Wrist Action You don't USE IT. It naturally happens. When you set up to the golf ball notice how the shaft is ahead of the clubface. Look at your wrists. th e left is flat (supinated) and the right wrist is bent(pronated). swing back halfway what does it look like now. The same, or at least it should. It will look opposite when you swing halfway through the ball. You should see the toe of the club is pointing toward the sky, your left wrist is flat or slightly supinated, and your right wrist is slightly pronated or bent. Go halfway back now go to the top of the backswing. Left wrist is flat and right wrist is bent. Move to impact. Same image, now swing half way through(forward swing) You will notice the opposite. Your left wrist is bend or pronated and your right wrist is supinated. What happens on one side must occur on the other, only in opposites. DO NOT ACTIVELY THINK ABOUT THIS WHEN YOU ARE PRACTICING PLAYING OR MERELY SWINGING A GOLF CLUB. Think of the back of the left hand as the clubface. Whatever your left hand is doing the clubface is also. Also do not buy into AJ'S truth about golf.

Re: Wrist Action http://members.cox.net/gregjwillis/LESSON3.htm Look at the angle of the wrists at impact. Those angel shoulde be constant throughout the swing. However, I have seen pictures of VJ's follow through which appears as if he is pronating his right wrist. Maybe someone can comment.

Re: Wrist Action Sorry to say guys, but you have to understand this concept. It is possible to block your wrists throught the whole golf swing and you will be hitting to right field your whole life. You need to understand how the golf club is designed to be used and how the club should attack the golf ball. Let AJ teach you about all this. I will publish my commentary/evaluation on the AJ Truth about golf DVD's on the appropriate thead that has been on here for a while in the next day or two. Chessbum...
