Club moving in hands

After hitting every tee shot crisply yesterday with just one or two hooks I went today and had a disaster. From the first tee and on probably 14 holes I was hitting the ball low and off to the right at about 40 degrees

It felt like the ball was a brick and my hands were giving-way at impact and on some shots after I'd finished swinging my hands had moved on the grip so that the clubface was now fully closed. This was so horrible as I couldn't understand what I was doing wrong when I was fine yesterday. What I don't get is that if my hands were losing grip at impact then wouldn't the clubface have been forced open after my shot? I've actually got an injury to my left hand today down the pinky side of my palm and I'm wondering if that's what caused it as on some shots I actually felt pain across my palm.

As I've taken golf up for the 2nd time only 3 weeks ago I've been and bought some new clubs thinking I'm better off learning to swing with more modern clubs than before (my old ones I bought 2nd hand and were 10+ years old). I'm wondering if the clubs are too heavy for me or something. I know the grips are much fatter.

Any advice as to why this happens or should I wait till my hand has healed and see if that's what it was?

Re: Club moving in hands

Since your hands are the only connection to your club, handinjuries can cause major problems in your game. My advice is to take some time off from golf. Better yet, go see ol' sorebones and get a professional medical advice....

Re: Club moving in hands

Okay, that's what my brain has been telling me but I've got so addicted to it I didn't want to miss a chance of playing. I guess I can play footy this sunday instead and at least I have an excuse to not go in the net
