Re: Pull Hook

I had a pull hook near every shot and here is what I did to correct it.

1. Use the correct grip. I also have a strong left hand grip and am able to see 3 knuckles.

2. concentrate on your left side through impact. Think about your left arm swinging through the ball.

3. dont begin the downswing by swinging as hard as you can. I try and hold back a bit and once im part way through the downswing I rip it.

This stuff helped me, hopefully it helps you.

Re: Pull Hook

Youre most likely rotating your body too quickly and thus swining around yourself too much

Try thinking about 'swinging to right field'. Put a club down and aim it 45deg right of the target, then try and and swing down that line making sure you fully release and club (rotate the forearms). This should make sure you come from the inside a little more and stay behind the ball through impact

Re: Pull Hook

I've not seen you swing but if it's a pull-hook it sounds to me like your coming over the top with a closed face. I wouldn't change anything until I checked the alignment of everything from the shoulders right down to the clubhead.

Re: Pull Hook

I had the exact same problem, and sometimes, still do.

Being new to golf, rotating the hands was unnatural. As it became natural, I began over-closing the clubface resulting in a hook. I took a lesson and realized that I was not opening the clubface enough on the backswing. The clubhead should be pointing down (or the clubface pointing perpendicular to the target line) at the top of the swing (when the shaft is parallel to the ground and behind your head).

Re: Pull Hook

Thanks To All For Responing Ive Noticed Something In Addition To My Problem That I Think May Be Problem But I Dont Know Ive Noticed That Most Of The Time My Head Is In Front Of The Ball At Impact Is This Also A Problem And Could It Contribute To My Pull Hooking

Re: Pull Hook

Try rotating your left forearm clockwise as you reach the top of the backswing, that way it has to rotate more on the way down than usual and may keep the face square at impact rather than closed.
