| Look at Tiger's insane late release I saw this picture and just had to share it. http://img.timeinc.net/golfonline/im...9/tiger299.jpg This is what we should all be striving for. Maybe seeing this picture can help give some guys the mental image as to when you should be releasing your hands (myself included). I love searching pics of top players - they can tell you a lot! And actually, now that I look at it a second time, it's even more incredible. I bet if you had a picture of his takeaway, his hands/arms/shoulders would look almost exactly the same at this point on the way back. It seems pretty obvious that once he gets the club parallel to the ground and gets the wrists cocked, he just turns his shoulders to complete his backswing (http://img.timeinc.net/golfonline/im...cher_tip2.jpg), then just rotates the shoulders back to this point and then releases the hands/clubhead through the ball. This picture says a LOT to me (the series actually).

| Re: Look at Tiger's insane late release Yes, the fact that his wrists are still cocked so late in his downswing. Most of us don't even hold our wrist angle like that past our shoulders much less so far down. It's pretty insane. Check out this for some awesome swing views (Vijay, Sergio, Retief): http://www.golfonline.com/golfonline...483709,00.html |

| Re: Look at Tiger's insane late release Hmm this is curious. I just took a snapshot of my swing, and it does look like the lag is there too. I am pretty sure I am lousy at the lag etc but the snapshot is interesting I am not sure if it's the video framerate or something.I believe on the backswing the arc should be wider than it is on the downswing though, so the positions should not be the same? Do you guys have pics of your swing as well? Last edited by Simon Woo; 10-10-2005 at 03:34 AM. |
