Hands straight on follow through

I am now quite pleased with my swing but just there is one thing that is stopping me hitting those balls correctly,do you keep both arms fully straight on the down swing also do i move my hips through to the ball before my club gets there,i see this as a power boost am i correct.

thanks for your help.

Re: Hands straight on follow through

left arm and club should be straight right might be but should have some wrist cock (greg right hand drill). yes your hips have to lead the swing if there not cleared it gets ugly (chunking ,topping the ball wrong swing path). good thing to do put a head cover under your arm pits and take some half swings and dont let the covers drop to the ground. I do this when i get to the range practicing long chips and bump and runs. kills two birds at once.i start with feet close at first for ballance and tempo. i always try to concentrate more on my lower body than arms or ball swing once body get moving correctly every thing seems to come together.hope it helps

Re: Hands straight on follow through

Thanks for the help guys, also when i watch many videos of people swinging mostly of those who reach great distances, when there left leg moves inwards taking into account im right handed and there making the backswing and when they are about to follow through it looks as if they are quickly flicking there left leg as they make the followthrough.

is it good to do this, what does it do.

hope you understood me.

thanks again.
