Question for those of you using "the secret"

I'm trying to imagine how this device works and in reading your all posts I'm under the impression it is virtually impossible to cast with this on.

If this is the case then is it safe to assume that is also makes you swing from the inside. It is impossible I believe to come over the top without somehow throwing the club out at the ball in some way.

thanks,

Re: Question for those of you using "the secret"

I bought "The Secret" last week and first of all I have to say I found it almost impossible to hit shots with it on. It forces you to have this crazy setup which does no good at all. IMO

It did help though. Before, I used to swing back and my right hand used to swat from side to side on the backswing. You cannot do this move with the secret on so with the help of muscle memory I have stopped doing this. My swing does feel more solid.

Since I bought it for only £18, I think it was a good buy !

Re: Question for those of you using "the secret"

I thought the aid went on your LEFT wrist and helped to reduce the "Swatting" motion, but I researched it, and find that it goes on your right wrist. How does this help?

Re: Question for those of you using "the secret"

i purchased this device about 3 or 4 weeks ago, and i'd have to say that it was the worst thing that i could have used for my swing. it indeed does put you in a very forced, awkward position at address. it also forced my plane to get extremely flat, to the point where i couldn't get the ball airborne. i have been working the past two weeks just to get the clubface square again.

at the top, the secret promotes a laid off right hand, which causes the clubface to point straight at the sky at the top. it takes a ton of effort just to square the clubface back up at impact. strangely enough, i discovered i never swatted at the ball to begin with, and the secret has done nothing but hurt my swing...

i would only suggest it if you need something to really force your right wrist into the proper position.

My Dad is a 22 handicapper and the Secret did nothing for him. He could use it but it didn't effect his swing in any way. He obviously didn't swat his right hand either.

Re: Question for those of you using "the secret"

Hi irhyper2,

Since both hands are connected, swatting can only be done with both wrists. So in a sense you could be right - it might be possible to design one for the left wrist, but I'm not an expert in design or what other possible side effects it might have, so I am guessing it was probably easier to design one for the right wrist. It could also be because in a swat, you tend to use the right hand to flick foward, rather than use the left to flick backwards. Same as in the racquet games, I think the forehand comes more naturally than the backhand stroke.

It's probably possible to not swat even though the hand are not sufficiently in front of the clubhead - maybe due to incorrect setup and backswing. So I am thinking the secret also has a function of ensuring the clubhead doesn't catch up with hands (without swatting), a huge power leak.

Re: Question for those of you using "the secret"

Stick a ruler between your watch/wrist and down your glove, this will stop your left hand swatting through
Do it with a slow swing to begin with in case you hurt yourself!
