| Hiya, My playing partner says he uses a sweeping action (as used for driver/woods) for short irons. what would be the result of using this method as opposed to trying to take a divot? he has a whack it/ whack it mentality! |

| Re: sweeping for short irons The result would be a ball that doesn't stop/suck back, due to the lack of compression. His distances may also be 'out of line' from the rest of his irons (unless he's sweeping them all). |

| Re: sweeping for short irons How good is he with his short irons? My natural swing has always been more of a sweep than anything and I've worked hard to eliminate that from my short game as it doesn't work for me at all. |
