Going past parallel ! I was shocked to see my driver swing go way past parallel. Is that OK? But the ball flew long and straight!!. I believe I will have to shorten the backswing. I also found my left hand was not staright at top of the swing and wonder if starightening it will also help? Pls. review the first 3 swings. And post your comments. http://www.golf-tuition-online.com/v...0&ppuser=13292 Last edited by nkranga; 11-06-2005 at 11:34 PM. Reason: More info.....

Re: Side views of 7I, 3I & Driver Posted; Your Thoughts one of the reasons your going over the top is you left arm is bending to much.you have a real good shoulder turn almost to much. getting your left arm a little sraighter will deffinatly help, it dont have to be completely straight, slow down your back swing and point your left foot 45 degrees twards target, that will give you good body coil. you might not hit as far at first but should be straight. once you get that down start to work on uncocking wrist as late as posible then youll get your distance.

Re: Side views of 7I, 3I & Driver Posted; Your Thoughts Ranga - your swing has a lot of elements that mine had in it when I first taped it. See this thread on crossing the line for some great tips from board members on shortening your swing. (crossing the line)http://www.golf-tuition-online.com/vbportal/forums/showthread.php?t=3457 Looking at your swing it could be that there is not quite enough coiling. You turn your shoulders a long way (like I used to and do) but I am not sure if you right leg is providing enough resistance. Also I think you may be bringing the club slightly too much inside on the backswing (something I continually struggle with). Anyway its a nice action and your swing basics are pretty sound so its just a bit of tweaking needed. nick

Re: Side views of 7I, 3I & Driver Posted; Your Thoughts i sent a previous comment. to elaborate - your are going so far past parallel that your weight is actually going back to your left side - a classic reverse pivot. Stop your swing just short of parallel when your weight is on your right side and your shoulders are behind the ball.

Re: Side views of 7I, 3I & Driver Posted; Your Thoughts Could you see the club head from the corner of your eyes, at the top of your backswing? ![]() I also noticed that your last movement before the takeaway was to lock up your left hand. Not sure whether to call that a nice trigger? Last edited by Simon Woo; 11-08-2005 at 08:13 AM.

Re: Side views of 7I, 3I & Driver Posted; Your Thoughts Here are my two cents as to why you are overswinging: 1) You are not keeping your right leg still. As you can see, the right leg sways on your back swing quite a bit. 2) Because of that, you are reverse pivoting (your body is in the shape of a reverse C at the top of your back swing) 3) Cant see clearly but I think your right elbow is not pointing down at the top of the swing. Your right elbow should never really point behind you but should point down towards the ground. I think if you can fix these up, you will notice that your backswing will probably be shorter already. Your elbow is quite bent at the top. However, your elbow doesnt necessary have to be straight. Try these things to try to fix the above problems: 1) At address, turn your right knee in a little bit at address. When you do your backswing, you should feel quite a bit of pressure building up in your right leg. 2) Try to make your back face the target at the top of the backswing. Imagine that your body is straight like and I and not curved like a C. 3) Try to make sure that your right elbow points down to the ground. Hope that helps! Matt

Re: Side views of 7I, 3I & Driver Posted; Your Thoughts The other thing I metion on the coments is your ball position. with your ball position where you have it you will hit it fat quite alot. move the ball back in your stance. your left arm pit will be the lowest point of your swing with your irons you hit down on the ball by moving the ball backwards behind your left arm pit.
