ball position

First of all, I'm a left handed golfer. ... (don't hold it against me )This is how I play - is it correct?:

PW - 5 Iron - ball placement is about 3inchs from center, and 5 iron, ball is in centre (lined up between my legs).

4 iron - 3 iron - ball placement is about 2 inches towards my front foot from the middle of my stance, then a bit more for the 3 iron. Same with the five wood, and three wood.

I try my best to keep my hands in front of the ball during the iron shots - except for the 3,4,5 iron - which is difficult NOT to have your hands behind the ball.

My weight on the lower irons (pw - 5 iron) is about 60% on the front foot. The other irons, I keep my weight equal on both feet, or slightly more on my back foot.

I really need more direction/lessons on ball positioning (where it should line up with my body) and definatley need help with my hand positioning. I have heard the your hand should be in front of the ball with irons, but, that gets difficult with 5,4,3 irons - whereas I just simply line up with the ball straight, or my hands are behind the ball.

Confused... help!
