Greg's Lesson 3 help...

I started suffering from severe over the top which destroyed my accuracy. My instructor worked with me on getting my arms to drop into the slot. I never did this before (only been playing 4 months). This instruction killed my swing even more.

I looked at Greg's lesson 3 and things clicked. That lesson, along with a momentus swing trainer, has helped me to dial that sensation of dropping the arms in.

My question is....I Greg's lesson 3, is the illustration with the door and shoulders completely open the actual point of impact??? or just a moment after it? I can't get totally turned in that position and still be behind the ball. I can get 3/4 of the way there but with shoulders completely turned I am past the point impact. I looked at quite a few videos of pros swings and it doesn't seem they are completely turned either. Is this picture and exaggeration or...what am I missing???

Re: Greg's Lesson 3 help...

That position is a drill to get you to maximize and streach. You getting to 3/4 of the way there is perfect. It is really meant to illistrate the feeling of where you should "try" to put your impact/rotation position. Those that don't get past their setup position at impact is whom I target to benifit from the drill.

So good job!

Re: Greg's Lesson 3 help...

THanks for the quick response! That drill DID help translate the feel to me. I've just been working on swinging with an iron, driver, and momentus the last couple of days. I'm heading to the driving range now to see how it works hitting a ball.
