confusing

I was out practising my golf the other day, and whilst i was rehearsing the secret as mentioned on here by g willis, part of the practice says you should hit some balls with your feet close together, well i did this and noticed that if i hit the ball with near enough a full swing iam hitting the ball just as far and with a much better tradjectory than if i set up with my normal stance . can anybody give me any advice as to why this is and does it imply that iam doing somethink wrong in my normal set up.
this may answer the question why i feel that i lack distance ,

although people do remark that i have a very good looking golf swing plus good tempo.

Re: confusing

my guess is, that by keeping your feet together, you are forced to make a more full turn of the chest and shoulders.

Re: confusing

i had the same experience too.. when i hit balls with my legs closed, it seems my swing is smoother and release better..really, but when i start spreading my legs little by little, then my swing goes back to my normal 'not so good' swing (with a little block, not fully released). i don't know why, might be because of the full body turn when i with my legs closed. However, i cannot hit the ball as far as normal in the closed legs form, so i just use this as warmup practice swing now to get the rhythm before i start hitting balls.

Sorry, cannot really answer your question. maybe i can ask my golf coach next time to see what he says.
