Any comments welcome of cause, It's still a work in progress swing as I have only been playing for 2-3 months.

Re: My Golf Swing

Looks good from that angle- nice, controlled swing- looks effortless.

One thing about videoing the swing, should get at least 2 views; one face on and one from behind you down the intended line of flight.

What is your carry distance on the 7 iron? What is your age?

BTW is sure looks like you have been playing a lot longer than 2-3 months...

Thanks!

Tom

On the second I lift my left foot, thats the reason why I made the video, lol. I will try get a video facing me from front on.

Re: My Golf Swing

Nothing wrong with the left foot in my opinion.

You may benefit from widening your stance especially with the driver. Stance seems very narrow.

Swing is very nice and on plane.

May gain distance by doing some flexibility excercizes... should turn seems not quite complete and you are lifting your left foot.

Obviously you must be pretty strong to generate that distance.

You must be doing some things very right. I swing with twice that amount of effort and don't get anywhere near the kind of distances you are getting. Cheers!

Do you have 125kg's/275lbs of weight behind the coil of your swing? Probably not, thats why it looks like I swing so slower than you but they go further. It just shows that it's not all about club speed.

it is all about clubhead speed, the clubhead speed when the ball LEAVES the face of the club

I never said club head speed I said club speed.. I see some people swing so much faster than I do make good impact and don't hit as far as I do.

Re: My Golf Swing

not a bad swing for a beginner. nice tempo and relaxed. work on turning your shoulder more to 90 degrees and getting them behind the ball. on the follow through try to keep your elbows at the same distance apart. (if you stop your swing on the follow through on the video) you will see the elbows separate - the "chicken wing effect". The left elbow should fold up on the follow through. you can try putting a headcover under the left elbow to get the feel of this.

Re: My Golf Swing

Still an interesting point. I know clubhead speed refers specifically to the point of impact. For a good (pro) swing, does the clubhead accelerate steadily or is there a sudden increase in speed close to the point of impact (the release?). I think a lot of beginners do swing fast (I do the swoosh very nicely), but if you want, you can call that club speed and does not necessarily mean I will have good clubhead speed (at impact) if I am not doing the lag and release properly?
