| Re: Take it from the top: do the arms/hands drop and turn the One thing to try and I stress try as it doesnt work for me but I know it does for friends of mine is to feel as though you leave your hands at the top, fully cocked, as you bump laterally towards the target. Your arms will drop anyway but you are exaggerating the feeling of not having them move before the lower body does Keep this all smooth and slow and then, when the club is parallel to the ground on the dowswing with the wrists still hinged you can throw your arms/shoulders/hands through the ball to release. Will take some getting used and some timing as this method means you would be releasing the club much later than you may be used to |

| Re: Take it from the top: do the arms/hands drop and turn the I agree with the two comments above. The downward hand action should be a natural drop that occurs because of a slight lateral hip bump toward the target. If you go the the top of your swing and try this hip bump watch your hands naturally fall into the slot. Be careful not to sway into the left side only the lower body should be bumped not the upper as well. Takes some practice but can be very beneficial for consistency and length as well. |
