Question Swing Advice desperately needed!!!!

There is a copy of my swing taken on Sunday (http://www.anfest.f2s.com/swing.avi: approx 11MB).

I used to play with a constant draw/hook but now I have no idea where the ball is going. I am not getting the ball very high which is affecting the distance that the ball travels (especially in the current cold winter weather).

My game has been going downhill since I hurt my back a couple of years ago. I do not feel pain at any point of the swing but my game gets worse the longer the round progresses. I guess this has probably affected my swing somewhat!

Any advice would be greatfully appreciated!!

Thanks

Andrew

Re: Swing Advice desperately needed!!!!

It's your lower body. You do not get any hip rotation though before and at impact. Your hands have to take over and flip the face square, and that is causing the inconsistancies.

Try these 2 drills:

Right Hand Drill
Impact Position Drill

(appoligies to those that read this site often, seeing this referenced again)

I havent specifially used this drill, but when I practice (and sometimes on thec course) before I take a shot I will put my body into the correct impact position. I find it really helps me to hit a solid shot, just looks a bit strange...

Talking Re: Swing Advice desperately needed!!!! (Update!!)

Since my original post I have spent the past month working hard on Greg W's Impact Position Drill trying to perfect it. However, no matter how hard I tried I was struggling to get the feeling he was describing with the Right Hand Drill. Therefore, I went looking and managed to find Greg Norman's Secret on eBay.

What I can say but WOW!!!!!!

I have had a few lessons in my lifetime and never thought there was a 'one-shop' fix to the golf swing but this is as near as I have come to finding it. Everything I am now hitting is being hit with a slight touch of draw and the power feeling I am getting is AMAZING!!

I even had a father and son complement me on having such a superb swing tonight!! Not sure they knew what they were talking about but sure is a great boost to the ego!!

Thanks Greg W. for pointing me in the direction of The Secret, it is everything I wanted from a gadget and more!! I'm sat here in the UK now desperately waiting for summer to arrive and I wasn't saying that a month ago.

Re: Swing Advice desperately needed!!!!

I somehow thought that the Secret set the right wrist angle and the Swing glove the left hand. Is this correct? How do they achieve the same result?

Both attempt to keep both the wrists setting and releasing in the vertical (in respect to setup). Norman's was first, so someone had to make more money off the same concept...the swing glove.

I want to see how it will be with both on...I have to get the swing glove and try them both out...Tin Cup here I come!

Not sure you understood my comment there...it was in reference to the movie "Tin Cup" where Rena Russo had on all the trainning aids at once...

Hi, I am new to golf and to this forum. I am also frustrated enough with my stupid game to the point of placing an order for the swing glove a minute ago. That said, can you explain to me again what the swing glove is supposed to guide me to do? I can't see how it is supposed to replicate Norman's Secret which was supposed to solve the right wrist problem. I know I have massive problems with my swing plane, cocking and unhinging of wrists (plus a whole howling plethora of flaws) but I am confused by the pictures they put on the swing glove advert. e.g. Is the 85% degree bent of the wrist good or bad?

Re: Swing Advice desperately needed!!!!

AFAIK all these wrist devices do is stop you from swatting through impact. Wont mean nowt if youre swing plane is off, you have a sway etc etc

All they do is force you to take the hands out of the swing, something you should learn to do naturally IMHO
