| Right Arm Postion Not sure if I posted here but I'm still struiggling to understand my right arm position. It is very frustrating simply becasue I don't understand how it is possible - my right forearm angle is very straight at the top of my swing it points pretty much straight down. Most normal people & pros seem to be angled - pretty much the same angle as their backs. I can't for the life of me figure out how this is possible - it's as if my right arm is longer than my left - I know it's very laid off, but in most photos you see it looks like the have no upper arm. I have practiced in front of mirrors etc and can't seem to get my arm in this position without bending my left arm considerably. I am obviously doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what.. Arggghhh Thanks! |

| Re: Right Arm Postion There's nothing wrong with a right elbow pointing straight down, in fact it's a great position to get to. Even in modern swing techniques, it's remains a great position to be in. ![]() Here's a pic of a US Tour Pro I had in my library of pics. If he can play the PGA Tour with his elbow pointing straight down (or more or less), it's good enough for me! it's one ofthe points in the swing we look at when we look at any golf swing. Notice also his right elbow is within his body width???? Very important, if your right elbow is outside your body with, youhave a problem! It's the David Leadbetter tip about feeling as if you're holding a tray on the right hand at the top ofthe swing. You couldn't hold a tray if your right forearm matches your spine angle. No way in hell! Your problem is that your right forearm isn't upright, it's directed inwards towards the body and that's forcing your club to point left. A final point: the pro picture you're comparing to isn't the best to use as a comparison. He's got a l-o-n-g swing and the club is pointing WAY right ...
