Re: How should I start my downswing Hey, good question. I've been working on that as well. I'm currently trying to work on a slight shift to the left side...for me that involves getting my right knee back back over my right foot...and at the same time, working to bring my right elbow down towards my right hip...from here, I try to turn my hips a bit and then continue to swing through. My problem has been casting-related and I've struggled with releasing the club at the right time. I'll be interested in what others might suggest.

Re: How should I start my downswing I don't think there is one correct way. In general, lower body movement precedes upper body movement. Triggers can be a turning out of the left knee towards the target, push of the right foot, turning the hips. It really depends on what you are comfortable with. Personally, I think more left sided thoughts as I like to lead with the left side and going through the ball as smoothly as possible. I tend to avoid right side thoughts as I have a tendency to try and hit the ball rather than swing through.

Re: How should I start my downswing Heres a good article http://www.golfonline.com/golfonline...468976,00.html The key to this is timing and feel. You may have to do these moves a lot building up from slow speeds to blend the upper and lower body moves together. Driving with the upper legs is recognised as a powerful move but be sure to move both legs forward so there is still a gap between your knees as you approach impact (as you see Annika do in the article). You can also see how how left hip and shoulder have come up and her right shoulder down before it then starts to come around

Re: How should I start my downswing maintain good spine angle in the back swing, which will enable proper coil, and then the lower body will AUTOMATICALLY lead the way. trying to figure there is more to it then that will only leave you confused and on a wild goose chase
