Post impact

Need some descriptions on what happens after impact. I've been trying to keep my head behind the ball but this almost always means I end up with my weight not fully transferred to the left foot. Right after impact, how far are you supposed to extend the clubhead down the line? Is the correct move to extend both arms when club is parallel to the ground, then fold the left arm behind the body? Would appreciate any tips on what to do right after impact to followthrough.

Thanks!

Re: Post impact

Believe me when I say this, and don't just shrug it off: Do not worry about what to do after impact. Only worry about what you do to get to impact. Post impact is the result of what you did prior...that's all there is to it.

You're obviously getting really into you video, frame-by-frame. And wondering why this looks different from the pro swings.

My guess as to why your arms and elbow positions are different is that you have quite a difference in the club head and rotational speed. Their force and accelerations are at a significantly greater values then anyone else. What you see in a frame-by-frame comparison will show these differences clearly if you look at the distance between each club's positions in that frame to the next frame, and compare it to your positions (assuming the frame rates are identical).

So what does this mean? Relax. Take your videos and get a professional evaluation on the basics you are doing, and do not get involved in trying to perfectly emulate the pro's positions.

You are getting serious about this game, and that is great! I remember your swing early on and you really have improved. Take YOUR swing and make it yours using results and feel to direct what works best for you. It's just a guess again, but I think you might be starting to get too analytical. But correct me if I am wrong...there really is nothing wrong with going down this path once in a while, just make sure you are not trying to get too detailed about things that you do not have control of or are out of your abilities.

Re: Post impact

Thanks Greg! What could be better advice than one telling me I don't need to do anything! But I get where you're coming from - seeing a difference in our swings makes me "worry" that I might be doing something fundamentally wrong. I know that's probably a bit over-analytical. Will try to cut back on that

Thanks!
