swing video and pics

Hi,

First time posting here. I have a golfblog, where i am keeping track of my activities of my 2006 golfing season. I am looking for useful criticism of golf swing. Swing video and pics here: http://golfblog2006.blogspot.com/

Thanks in advance,

Robin

Hi Robin,
Viewed your video and it looks solid to me! I like the full shoulderturn and a good strong left leg on impact. I hope this is helpful.
Regards,
Robert

Re: swing video and pics

Ok, if I was guessing. I would say you bad shot are probably duck hooks or some type of hook action. I say this due too two things...

1) the legs seem just a tad close together which keeps you lower body fairly quiet. Although I REALLY LIKE YOUR SHOULDER TURN and your legs don't seem to get in the way. Taking the lower body out will have a tendency to make your swing "armsy/handsy" at times....which goes with point two

2) Your left foot is not angled out at all, which could prevent you from making a complete hip turn through the ball. Again, combining this with the slender stance, it makes me think you could get handsy but you probably hit some great shots due to your great shoulder turn.

In actuality I really like your swing. It seems controlled, fluid and repeatable...but those are just the things I noticed that might help you to become even more consistent.

Re: swing video and pics

You're leading with your arms rather than your hips. Your stance is too narrow.

I'd also say your posture is bent over too far. But if your swing works who cares? Does it though?

How far do you hit a 5 iron?

I agree. My stance does look a little narrow. Not quite sure what you mean by "leading with arms not hips". As for being bent over, the Youtube video distorts things quite a bit (by stretching things out horizontaly, any squishing vertically). Do you still think i am bent over too far when looking at the stills? I hit a 5 iron about 170.
