Re: My swing again

Hi Ian

Am enjoying reading this site, haven't posted too many comments, but thats a nice swing you have there. Set up is very good, maybe a little more tilt in the shoulders but camera work is a little shaky so its hard to tell. Takeaway is very good, nice and neat with good width. Maybe you loose a little spine angle at the top of your set up but again its hard to tell with the camera angle and movement. Only real problem is your release through the ball, your left wrist breaks down. I think it could be from a late weight shift on to your left side because you seem to correct it again later in the swing. Just wondering, how far did you hit the shot and what was the ball flight like? Nice swing though, good job.

J

Re: My swing again

Nice swing. Your takeaway looks very good. Only problem I could spot (and only by looking at the video frome by frame) is that it looks like you are casting the club a little.

Re: My swing again

Thanks Guys,

I thought there appears to be some casting or early release, also the left wrist I hadn't noticed, however I do have a down the line driver shot that clearly shows the club travelling down the line after impact.

The shot was ok about 200yds but it is up hill to the green index (1) with a slight cut.

Thanks for your comments, if I was perfect I would be playing for a living, not working, but it is great fun.

Re: My swing again

I posted my comments as well - it doesn't appear as though you are letting your hips pull your upper body through impact as your hips and shoulders are basically square to the target prior to impact and your hands are ahead just after impact.

Re: My swing again

I would like to see down the line
Yes you are casting
looks like you are coming over the top too
forward lunge at the ball

looks like your shoulders are open at address because of no right elbow bend at address and this right here could cause all of the above so dont be overwhelmed

I'm not sure if this is the same thing Gord but what I noticed were two things:

1) A lovely tempo (nice one Ian) - my personal mantra at the moment as I've been concentrating on good tempo with amazing results

2) I think you might be losing some power as you uncoil due to a lack of lag, although 200 yards up the hill isn't exactly short.

Thanks for posting it Ian.

Re: My swing again

Having seen my swing Gandalf,

Thinks the sock under the left arm pit will help stay connected and reduce the slight casting.

My 2 iron down the line has now been approved.

Cheers
