Divot is off

I have a problem that I can't figure, but from what I can is that I'm hitting the ball off the toe and my divot is deeper on the toe side of the divot. I was a 5 handicapp 2 years ago but these lasts two years have been terrible. First time out this year I shoot a 83, which was all right. I worked on just turning my right shoudler backward and it seemed to work. Today I went out and shoot a 97.........I tried the shoulder turn and it just didn't work...All shoots are going right....big blocks and big fades with my driver....I use to have a nice draw 275 out. Now it's just gone downhill..........I'm about to quit the game...someone want to help? PLEASE!!!!! lol

Re: Divot is off

deeper on the toe side of your divot is a sign of incorrect lie angle, u might need to get that checked

Re: Divot is off

If you are a 5 handicapp, it probably something minor.
Grip check grip to make sure it is strong enough. you grip may be too weak and unable to square the club at impact check proper placement of the club etc.
Alignment - check to make sure your shoulders are basically square at address. Open shoulders can cause you to come across the ball and go right
Stance - make sure you have enough spine tilt, butt out and knees slightly flexed in a good athletic postion. If you don't have enough tilt, you may be taking the club too much inside and it could be getting stuck back there.

Re: Divot is off

If you used to be good with the set of clubs you own now then the only problem is with your setup. I say this because like one other poster said it sounds like incorrect lie angle on your clubs but if you used to be a five handicap with those clubs then your setup has changed.

Re: Divot is off

Thanks for the help........the lie angle was changed by me for some stupid reason at the start of last year......so that makes sense.........and I can say that my setup has gotten too open.......to the point where I was severly hooking the ball last year. I tried fixing that last yesturday and had a couple of good drives. I just have to get to the range more and figure this out.
