Medicaton stiffness

I went to a teching professional three years ago and he said my hands were not were far enough in front of my stance.....meaning closer to my right leg (away from the middle . On video, to start my swing i move my hands forward to this position without even knowing it. I've been told this is not a good start and that I should start with my hands forward. For the last two years I've been working on starting with my hands forward and my swing has never been worse. I've been practicing this everday for at least 500 balls or so on the range. It has totally changed my swing and it sucks. I feel like the clubface is too closed and it just doesn't look right. When I decided to give up this apporach and go back to my old setup it has disappeared and now I'm stuck in the middle of trying to figure this out. I had a handicapp of 5 two years ago without the help of the putter (I can't putt) and now it is like a 15. I've ingrained this new setup in my swing....is there any hope for me? Would a pro be able to help me get it on track cause i haven't been to one in a while?

Also......I've been on medication for a little over a year and one of the side effects is muscle stiffness. Since being on the medication I feel like i'm not been able to make my normal swing from two years ago. At night when the medication has wore off before I take my next dose I feel less tighter and loose and I go out and hit some balls in the fornt yar with my 60 degree wedge from 50 yards out and everything is flowing better. My question is if anyone else has experienced this side effect through medication?
