| Okay, so I've been changing my swing lately trying to find a way to to get in the right position on the backswing which for some reason is extremely hard for me. Anyway I noticed if I push the butt of the club futher left than I normally have it at address when I turn my shoulders back it puts me in the perfect position on my backswing and I hit great shot. My question is why does this work? It goes against everything I thought I knew about the golf swing which is if you start out in a bad position there is no way to come back to a good position without manipuating the swing or do I just not know what a good address position is? My new address position put the butt of my club pointing at my left leg with my left wrist flat (This makes the club look a little open to me). Any explination of why this works would be great. |

| Re: Can somebody explain to me why this works? Well, I started it with my irons but it works for my driver and when I hit my 3 wood off the ground also. It's like by moving my hands forward it puts them in the correct position and then all I have to do is turn my shoulders. I don't mind doing this if it works but it's odd that my club looks open at address but I end up drawing the ball. |
