| Leaning Back Problem OK, even though i have been making good ball contact, it has been brought to my attention that i am leaning back on completion of my golf swing. I did not feel that I was, after seeing this on video I was surprised. Though I have tried pointing my nose at the target to ensure an upright position I am struggling, can anyone help with a tip or drill? All help appreciated Dean. | Re: Leaning Back Problem i am not too sure what your problem is.... leaning back is fine and done by almost all big hitters, as long as you weight is on your front foor then you can lean all you want. your head should stay relitivly still and when you weight shifts foward you head will stay still and the lower body will move foward it creates a lean. if i am hearing you correctly you are saying you look like this at impact? http://www.golftipsmag.com/content/i...struction.html or http://longdrivers.net/KevinOsborn.htm not sure if these people are good at golf or not but they sure do hit long |

| Re: Leaning Back Problem Without seeing your swing it is hard to tell. My guess is, is that if this is noticed by your playing partners, you are probably ending up with your weight on the back foot. As mentioned above, your weight should be on the front foot, back heel completely off the ground. |

| Re: Leaning Back Problem Quote:
If you throw a ball or stone, using an athletic action, you will find that your weight is on teh front foot, your hips are forward, but your head has not moved. This causes your spine to have a backwards lean - this is normal and all the good players do it. But, if you are falling back after hitting the ball, you are not getting a weight transfer to your front foot. You can hit the ball like this, but results will be inconsistent. Maybe a Gary Player type walk through swing would help, at least as a drill? |
