Driver speed

Hi this is my first post... anyhow...i am playing off 1 and my question i have is when i went for a custom fitting recenty i was swinging my 6 iron at 91 mph's on average but when i went to be tested for the driver it was barely 100 mph.The guy doing the testing thought it was very odd and expected me to be up around the 110 mark as its ususally about 20 mph in the difference.I do believe i do swing it a bit more than 100 but on the morn i didnt but at the same time definately not 110.Its funny when i have played against guys simialr to me i am always up there with their irons but more often than not behind them and sometimes well behind them off the tee...anyone got any ideas ??by the way this was the same with a few drivers i was tested with.

Re: Driver speed

Remember, to take full advantage of some of the new drivers, you need to tee it high and hit it on the up swing. If the tee is low or you are hitting on the downswing, you may be losing distance. Just a thought.

Re: Driver speed

Sometimes loss of swing speed with the driver occurs when our swing becomes a little narrow. In the take away try to keep the clubhead close to the ground for as long as possible , this will give you plenty of width on the backswing and should improve your clubhead speed . If this dosn't improve your clubhead speed you could be casting (releasing the club too early ) slightly on your down swing . try retain that 45degree angle you achieve at the top of your backswing for a little longer on the downswing ( you should hear a nice audible SWISH through impact) ........good luck
