and helps cup the right wrist before it cocks personallly I have a hard time doing a forward press before I start, but it works for many people, so if it works for you then go for it.

I only use the forward press (and a very slight one) for the short game like bunker shots and pitching, to get an earlier set of the wrists. Never felt comfortable taking away with the longer clubs with a forward press...
