| Re: My Swing : Please Critique :) shootin - your drill has helped alot the past days. The main thing with this drill, I have to avoid being too armsy and more relaxed. On a par 3 - 160yards, took out my 5iron that I can never hit solid. Focused on making the "X" and RELAXED through the downsing - wow! The ball just took off, it went too far actually - going 15yards over the green. I had to apologize to the two-some playing on the hole where the ball had landed. I think I still have alot to work on - I've been trying my best to focus on the right hand drill, but I just can't get it right, feels like there's just too much pressure and not enough relaxing. When I make sure to cock my wrists I get good contact, but I try my best to not cast. Anyway, some decent progression going on - can't wait to play for the league tourney on Thursday. |

| Re: My Swing : Please Critique :) great to hear, for some people the right hand drill seems to work wonders, for others not as good of results. Sometimes you have to try multiple methods to see which one works best for you. have you by chance tried the chipping technique i described? If not do a search for it, computers are slow here so not much searching or posting from me. Once you learn the chipping technique then try the cup then cock method 5 iron 175, keep swinging inside out and next week it will be 180, the week after 185..................... and the driver distances will follow ![]() and while you may still have a lot of work left, it sounds as if you had a lot less then before Last edited by shootin4par; 06-01-2006 at 05:59 PM. |
