My Swing : Please Critique :)

Been meaning to do this for a while, so grabbed my Dad and asked him to record my swing.

Usually I don't stand this upright - but I felt relaxed, I hope to post another video (after critiques) at the driving range eventually.

Re: My Swing : Please Critique :)

Let's start you out with the bench drill. You take it way too far inside, that you have nowhere else to go but back out for a wicked out-to-in path.

Re: My Swing : Please Critique :)

first need to get some space between hands and body, and because there is no space you will have to go out and around your hip on the down swing

Re: My Swing : Please Critique :)

thanks greg and shootin,

I'll definitely work on that ASAP. Will most likely post another video (with your inputs applied) soon.

Is there anything else that needs to be worked on? I know i've got a ways to go. I just don't understand how I can break 90 last month and this month not even break 100.ugh.

Re: My Swing : Please Critique :)

Worked on the tips today.

I didn't want to reach for the ball ( i hear thats bad ) so I moved my spine angle down a bit more. Really felt like I was hunched forward, but then looking in the mirror - everything semed fine.

Used my 7 iron again swung easy. Results were good, but I don't think any wrist cock was used - I could be mistaken. The reason being, it felt like my 7 iron was about 15 yards shorter than my 5iron. I would say what I usually hit with the 7I, but I've changed my swing so much that it's hard to tell.

A tip I received from a peer was that to keep my feet still (my right foot was rolling on my takeaway), this has helped - but makes me forget to rotate my hips, should I include a slight hesitation, so to get everything caught up?

thanks guys.take care.

Re: My Swing : Please Critique :)

Seems to me that you are taking it away too much on the inside, and coming over the top on the way down. Try to take it away on a straight path and think pulling down on a rope to encourage the club to fall into the "slot" Hope this helps.
Robert

Re: My Swing : Please Critique :)

sorry that you dont want to reach out more, but YOU need to. you need to try the drool drill. At address drool, if the drool misses both of your hands, they need to move out more. The drool should go about where both hands meet

Re: My Swing : Please Critique :)

That swing is pretty scary. Listen to what Greg and Shooting4par say. As a minimum. I'd also study a few GOOD swings and try to emulate them. There's a few on this site, I also think the frame-by-frame PRO swings are excellent to study as well. Every issue of Golf Digest has one, Golf magazine does them regularly as well.

Re: My Swing : Please Critique :)

Thanks alot guys - definitely feeling different with the "reach" idea. Will post some updated videos very soon.

Again thanks for the critique and thanks for not sugar-coating anything, I know I have problems and I want them to be addressed so I can get better at this game.

Matt take a look at some pros here, you can pause the clip as it is playing and then dragg bar for frame by frame, find pro that is about your build and study set up and swing motion through the ball to full finish .

what is the drool dill? Is it where I just hang my hands loosely and making sure they aren't too far or too close to my body?

thanks eurocop.

After much evaluation, I think I could try to go for a more Fred Funk type of swing. But is it me, or does he look more hunched over than anything? THat's how I felt when looking in the mirror. I thought it wasn't good to be hunched over.

Re: My Swing : Please Critique :)

take the adddress position, gather some spit in your mouth, now let it drool out. if it falls in front of your hands, they are too close, if it falls behind your hands, they are too far. If it falls where the hands meet on the club, that is about right
