Re: keys to power? ....as for forearms and biceps.... Look at Camilo Villegas (look at June 2006's Golf Digest). He is 5'9" and 154 lbs. He is 4th in driving distance at 308.5 yards. There is a picture of him at the finish. His arms are INSANE! I read an article online about his training. 3 times a week he trains forearms and biceps. Lots of Hammer Curls and Reverse Preacher Curls.

Re: keys to power? i was looking at thoose stats there and JB and Bubba have the same swing speed but bubbas ball speed is 12 faster. the only thing i can account for that happeniing is...... i did some calculations and everything being the same, bubbas club head would have to weigh 60g heavier to get that much more ball speed with that club head speed. i am assuming they both have .83 COR a 46g ball and they both have 7.5 loft. does anyone know what the club head weight of bubbus ping G5 and and holmes cobra comp 454? i calculated it at G5 at 180 and the cobra at 240, i jsut wanted if anyone knows the actually weight of thoose clubs to check if my calculations are correct. i know the shaft weight has something to do with the eqauitin but i have no clue how to calculate what the length and weight of the shaft, and how much that mass that actually adds into the eqaution.

Re: keys to power? ...and my understanding is that the rules on club head weight are much different than rules on size. I know the Cobra is 454 CC and the Ping is 460. So there is a LITTLE weight there. Look at it like this....Bubba is swinging a HEAVIER club as the same speed as JB. Laws of physics, the ball will go slightly FASTER. So that take more torque. Bubba's backswing is sick. It's like Gumby swinging a club!

Re: keys to power? bubba hits it farther because he has more arse behind it. if shaq and bruce lee throw a punch with the same speed, technique and impact conditions, shaqs would hurt more because he has more force behind it. His club head does not weigh 60 grams more, that swingweight would be off the charts

shaq doesn't have bruce lees technique well of course shaq would hit harder if conditions/technique were the same becaue he has more mass behind it. like i said bubba's head has more mass behind it or more ARSE if you will. there there is no such thing as a bruce lee shaq. shaq doesn't have bruce lees technique but back to golf i dont think a 240g head is that heavy, mine is 232g. but mathematicaly speaking here is a formula for you 126(1+.83)/(1+46/240) = 193 ball speed BUBBA 126 club head speed .83 COR 46 ball weight 240 club head mass 126(1+.83)/(1+43/180) = 183 ball speed HOLMES so it could be his shaft weighs 10 more grams and his head 30 more, not sure how much the weight of the shaft actaully counts towards the mass of the head at impact but that is why i want someone to check the actaul stats of there clubs to see if the formula is correct. |

Re: keys to power? I thought this was a discussion on why player A hits it farther then player b while most all things seem equal, except for player size? The point of my post was to inform, nothing more, nothing less
