Re: Hands just after impact

I think I found the perfect snapshot for this. This is from my old swing - notice the left elbow.. Definitely that's horrible horrible right? Anyway that's where my centrifugal force brought me - could it be an indication that I'm coming outside-in, or spinning around too much, or something else?

The swing I'm working on now definitely has the left elbow further from and more in front of the body after impact.. Hope that's considered an improvement?

Re: Hands just after impact

try switching hands.... and backswing left handed, you see how your left are rotates.... that is how it should rotate after impact (but with a straiter left arm)

have you tried that towel drill yet? that shoudl help.

Re: Hands just after impact

Hmm how does the towel drill help? I thought my problem was keeping the upper left arm too close to the body after impact, and I need to get it more in front along the target line...

Can you also expand a bit on seeing my forearm and not the outside of my arm? Are you referring to the pic or what I should be seeing in first person when I swing?

Thanks for taking the trouble to explain!

hmmm....

it is hard to explain.... you want your upper arm attached and the lower arm and hands farther away from body. if you chicken wing, then your hand would be close to your body and your alebow will be toward the target.

as far as the other comment, never mind that, i misunder stood something

Re: Hands just after impact

i also noticed in that pic you put there you don't seem to have any spine agle, that is not good.

maybee to would be easier to tell if you had a good follow through if you had someone film from a face on view on (with a practice swing) someone on the target line filming you.

here is a thought. try to get your hand as for from your body as posble in the downswing and after impact the right arm shoudl stay strait untill about head height.

your hands should be nowhere near your ribs.... atleast a foot from your lowest rib
