Health Check Needed!

Hi there,

I would really appreciate a bit of a health check on my swing. I play off 14, but have played off lower as a young lad. Ball striking is okay, but a bit of inconsistency at times.

Any thoughts are gratefully received.

(Didn't quite catch the set up!)

Many thanks,
Matt

You got a baby in your push cart!

To me your swing looks pretty good. Mostly because I think it looks a lot like mine.

Well she needs to learn how to caddie early, doesn't she..

So, tell me you're a brilliant golfer with a low single figure handicap, and I'll be reassured?!

Re: Health Check Needed!

Hi again - I would really welcome any general thoughts on how I can improve my wing and my game. My bad shots tend to be a pull with the short irons and a big cut with, particularly, my driver.

Any help from looking at the clips?

Matt

Re: Health Check Needed!

I'll give it one more try. I'm really keen for some advice.

Had another frustrating round today with pulld short irons and big high slice with my driver and, worryingly) 3 wood.

Any help?
Matt

Re: Health Check Needed!

I am by no means an instructor, but generally, if you are pulling irons you are coming from outside to in on your swing path. You may starting the downswing with your arms and pulling the club across the line instead of starting with your hip turn. I have a tendency to do that as well. With the driver, are you hitting a cut, a slice or a push?

If it is truly a slice, the same fix applies as with irons. Your swing looks good to me except you look like you may be a little steep coming into impact which could be contributing to the poor swing path. My two cents....good luck.

Re: Health Check Needed!

You might want to try to post this under another subject as a lot of people may be skipping over this particular subject as it doesn't sound like a swing critique topic.

Your misses seem to be very similar to mine. I believe I also have a very steep swing. I think I get steeper and get more pulls the faster my tempo gets. So I have to concentrate on slowing my tempo down slightly.

Re: Health Check Needed!

Get the fundamentals right and you are on your way to good golf.
Grip, posture, ball position, set up, alignment,
Get to a pro for 1 or 2 lessons on these and make sure you get these right, that may just cure what ails ya.
